Hey gang! How's everyone doing after the holidays?

As I suspected after reaching so many stretch goals (damn you, awesome, awesome backers for overdoing!!! LOL), we are running a little behind on production but I do expect to go to print by the end of the month!

This means, the extra story, HANGMEN, is almost done and you can check out a preview below by artists Walter Pax & Marcio Menyz!

We are also hard at work at the TWO double-size posters which will be printed as a full gloss dust-jacket. Art #1 is done by Zack Atkinson while Art #2 is currently in production by Diego Bernard with colors by Dinei Ribeiro:

And let's not forget Card #5 which will be printed in a gorgeous chromium/metal effect and features art by Italian artist Nicola Saviori:

I apologize for the delay in fulfilling your rewards as it looks like we will have to push our calendar a few weeks. Here's our up-to-date calendar:

• January 15th - BackerKit Surveys sent out (more info below!)
• January 31st - Rewards go to print
• February 15th - Digital Rewards delivered
• March - Hard-cover upgrade open (more info below!)
• April 15th - Rewards shipping out to backers

I sincerely don't anticipate delaying the dates above, they are quite reflective of the work being done so far.

THE HARD-COVER EXCLUSIVE UPGRADE TO BACKERS

I will order around 200-250 units with a premium hard-cover and will offer these up for grabsas an upgrade (i.e.: an extra $10 or so) through PayPal only first come, first serve.

If there are any left-overs then will be included in the next Few and Cursed Kickstarter which brings us to our next topic...:

THE FEW AND CURSED ISSUE #4 KICKSTARTER WILL HAPPEN IN MARCH \o/

I wanted to fulfill the Chronicles rewards before launching a new book campaign but that would eventually mess up the year's planning which will also see the release of issues #5 and #6 on Kickstarter effectively wrapping up Season 1 of The Few and Cursed.

Please bear with me as we move the series along and we cannot do that without your support so hopefully I will see many of you returning to the series while still waiting to get your Chronicle rewards.

BackerKit surveys are coming!

Soon, you’ll receive an email with a special link to your BackerKit survey. It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since I'll need this information to fulfill your rewards - including any digital rewards and digital add-ons hence the "urgency".

You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out the survey. When you receive the email just click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like.

You will be able to go back later and change your responses at any time before I close the surveys and get the final counts. That will happen around February in time to send out the digital rewards.

Addresses though will be able to be updated until early April.

If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page at https://fewandcursed.backerkit.com/

Please note: If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey is sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account.

So there ya go, folks, lots of exciting news and updates! Rest assured you will get some pretty awesome rewards as the whole crew is really putting on their best effort :D

Hello everyone!

What a rush those past few days were... our Kickstarter really soared and went above and beyond in every possible way and that's all thanks to you guys! How about some tap on your backs, there ya go, come on, tap that shoulder :D

We've unlocked every stretch goal we had and I was really overwhelmed at the response to the HARD-COVER special upgrade for some of you guys! I will definitely run by the printer and crunch those numbers to offer at least 200 units of the book in hard-cover premium format.

Mind you the hard-cover will feature ONE COVER ART ONLY - which means it will be either the Variant or the Regular and I will probably open it to a vote:

The vote and hard-cover upgrade will probably happen around X-Mas time so we've got some time. I will be constantly updating you all on the progress of the book but please already keep in mind we might delay delivery by a couple of weeks due to the extra pages we unlocked with the last stretch goal.

I have already an idea for the extra story but I still need to write, Walter needs to pencil and ink it and we will need a colorist to jump on this as well.

I WILL ALSO ADD ANOTHER 9 PAGES WORTH OF MAKING OF, SKETCHES, CONCEPTS & EXTRAS BRINGING THE TOTAL NUMBER OF PAGES TO 96!!

Because printers work in 16 page increments, why just add the 7-page story by Pax, am I right?

Project Spotlight

REPLICATOR #1 AND #2

As you well know by now I love doing these spotlights as I think it highlights the best of the community spirit here on Kickstarter. Many of you arrived at my own Kickstarter because other creators shared the Chronicles with you so it's only fair I return the favor.

Robert's comic sounds absolutely intriguing and they are going into their last week already fully funded. From their own pages: "England is ravaged by a disease that kills 10 million people. A private military called Black Gate and builds a walled Sanctuary where the rich and powerful can live free of disease while people outside die. In Replicator I want bullets to kill people, I want people that have unique powers and use them effectively I don't want to have superheroes to come back to life after being killed with no repercussions and I don't want to have stereotypical good guys and bad guys, I want you to decide who is good and bad and who is just doing what needs to be done."

Issue #1 has gotten terrific reviews and you can get both issues in the same Kickstarter, good luck to Robert!

Alright, guys, let's get real :D

We're doing fantastic and this is officially the biggest KS I've ever ran. It's also the most beautiful book I've ever produced and I'm happy it's set in The Few and Cursed universe as we will have TONS of exciting news for 2018.

Chronicles of The Few and Cursed deserves to be Hard-Cover!

So here's what we can do:

I might be able to negotiate a split quantity of hard-cover books with the printer, say 200 books in hard-cover format, everything else in trade paperback as planned.

Through BackerKit those looking to upgrade to hard-cover would be able to do it after the Kickstarter ends. However, please comment on this Update if you'd like the hard-cover for an extra $10 plus S&H ($3 within the US / $7 internationally) so I can see whether we have enough "pre-orders".

Yes, we had the above Stretch Goal unlocking at 1.000 backers but I wanted to honor your overwhelming support in some way and here's what I thought...

We are over 800 backers and that's quite the feat worthy of celebration so IF AND WHEN WE REACH $36K THE BOOK GETS A WHOPPING 12-16 NEW PAGES INCLUDING A BRAND NEW REDHEAD STORY!!!

And yes, that will also cater to our Digital only backers as well \o/

HOW CAN I HELP GET TO $36K?!

You can always up your pledge to include a any of our add-ons, go from a digital tier to a print one or....

Yeehaw, my good friends, we are galloping right towards the golden sunset!!!

I can't believe I'm saying this but WE ARE NEARING $36K IN PLEDGES! THAT'S TWO EXTRA GOALS UNLOCKED \o/

To Hard-Cover or Not Hard-Cover?

Your response was tremendous and so far we've got approximately 50 backers willing to upgrade their book for the Hard-Cover Premium edition. Do not up your pledges for the hard-cover just yet!

I will check with my printer if it's within my budget to print 200 editions in a gorgeous hard-cover edition and then I will offer the upgrade for an extra $10 plus shipping on a first come, first serve basis through BackerKit - that will happen in 5 to 6 weeks when I'll be ready to send the book to print.

In the event we have over 200 pre-orders, I will re-negotiate with the printer a higher number. Don't worry, I plan on doing right by everyone!

So please stay tuned for news :D

I shouldn't be surprised, you guys are fantastic and the support for Chronicles is absolutely overwhelming!!!

THANK YOU FOR A FANTASTIC KICKSTARTER!!

I can't believe we're doing this, we are gunning for the last two Stretch Goals in a big big way! We really outdid ourselves and just take a glance at everything unlocked so far:

It might look like we're far away but according to my math if most of you guys up your pledges by $5-$10 to get something extra like the Chronicles variant cover, or the collectible cards or ashcan editions of The Few and Cursed #1 thru #3, we will get there easily!

And there's always the 321: Fast Comics books... ;)

$10 for both books in digital format (that's 300 pages of comics) or $40 plus S&H for them in print! You don't want to miss Red's first curse chasing, do you?

What if I am a backer at a Digital tier?

You can always upgrade to any print tier you like and get in on the action. All of the above will be given away to EVERY backer regardless whether you are getting just the Chronicles, a 321, or any TFAC issue or bundle, doesn't matter. The perks above are for everyone!

Bottom line is you will be paying an extra $19 for what hopefully will be a hard-cover 96-page gorgeous book with a double-sided dust-jacket plus a Mini-Print by legendary Roger Cruz and a collectible trading card!!

I'd say that's a pretty sweet deal and one step closer to our $40K Ultimate Stretch Goal! Can't wait for the next update which hopefully will be to celebrate the $35K stretch goal :D

Also, we are going to use BackerKit for all rewards deliveries so if you overpledge you will have an extra credit to pick something from the Add-Ons list when we send out our surveys.
